JONATHON BECHTLE, CEO, Freedom Foundation
Jonathan joined the Foundation in 2005 to work on its Voter Integrity Project, and became a recognized national expert on election integrity. He testified before Congress on vote-by-mail concerns, and published in national and state media outlets, including the Seattle Times, Washington Post and National Review Online. Jonathan was a guest on the Lou Dobbs Show, and a guest lecturer at the National Republican Lawyers Assn Election Law School and the National Freedom of Information Coalition's FOI Summit. He is co-author of To Protect and Maintain Individual Rights, a citizen’s guide to Article I of the Washington State Constitution.

SUZANNE BAMONTE
Suzanne was raised in Metaline Falls, earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from CWU, became a CPA, and worked in accounting for 17 years in Seattle. In 1994, she married and moved to Spokane. In 1995, she and husband Tony started Tornado Creek Publications. They have since written and published 11 books on various aspects of Inland NW history, the latest being Spokane, Our Early History (2011). Publisher of over 12 history books for local authors.

January 23, 2012 CAPTAIN SCOTTY SMILEY, U.S. Army Ranger
Captain Scotty Smiley, a Ranger and combat-diver qualified infantryman. On April 6, 2005, he lost the use of both eyes when a suicide car bomber blew himself up thirty meters in front of Scotty’s Stryker vehicle.
The Army Times named Captain Smiley its "Soldier of the Year" in 2007, and in 2008 he won an ESPY as the Best Outdoor Athlete. Scotty, a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, recently taught the core course in leadership at West Point and commanded the Warrior Transition Unit at West Point’s Keller Army Medical Center. Captain Smiley is the author of a memoir about his experiences entitled: HOPE UNSEEN: The Story behind the U.S. Army’s First Blind Active-Duty Officer.

Jay directs the Center on Wealth, Poverty and Morality, and is a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for Faith, Work & Economics. Most recently he co-authored, with James Robison, the best-selling Indivisible: Restoring Faith, Family, and Freedom Before It's Too Late".
His work has been covered in publications such as The New York Times, The Washington Post (news and editorial), and the Wall Street Journal. Jay has appeared on many national radio and TV programs, including Larry King Live; and he has lectured worldwide on a variety of subjects, including to Members of the US Congress.

Under Laura's leadership, NWMA has successfully influenced the outcome of political dialogue, built effective working strategies with key elected officials, developed and coordinated the industry’s response to legislative and regulatory issues, and effectively built coalitions with other natural resource industry groups and public land users. Laura has 31 years of management, operations, legal and government affairs experience in the natural resource industries on private and public lands throughout the western United States. She has testified numerous times before congressional and state committees on mining, environment issues, oil and gas.
